Get to know the 2019 Hyundai Sonata

Because we have such a huge selection of Hyundai Sonata models, it's important for us to update shoppers on what is new for the 2019 model year, that way you can pick the trim that best serves your needs. Truthfully, there haven't been to many massive overhauls, seeing as the car was just restyled for 2018, but there are some key updates we want you to be aware of.

Mid-Year Enhancements

Hyundai did some mid-year enhancements during the 2018 model year, and most of those will be carrying over. For example, the SEL and Sport trims will still get a unique grille, a wireless charging pad so you don't get tangled up, dual automatic climate control, and a heated steering wheel for those chillier days or when you travel up into the California mountains for a winter getaway.

One mid-year update that isn't carrying over is the Sport+ model. For 2019 the trim will go back to being called the Sport and it'll also lose the option of getting the 2.0L turbocharged engine with 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft torque. Now you'll have to go back to getting either the Sport 2.0T or Limited 2.0T to snag the extra performance.

The few package changes will also be carrying over to 2019!

What we think you'll love

With those subtle updates in mind, here are three things we think you'll love about the Sonata:

  1. The option to get ventilated seats! Staying cool is key in this part of the country, and if you get the Limited trim it'll be nice and breezy.
  2. The Sonata does a great job having a lot of standard technologies. For enjoyment, all trims get a touchscreen (starting at 7-inches) and Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™. For standard advanced safety, there is blind spot monitoring, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert!
  3. The Sonata (and the rest of the new Hyundai lineup) still have excellent warranties that are some of the best in the States. These warranties will truly give you peace of mind about your purchase.
