Three Things to Know About the Redesigned Hyundai Accent for 2018

The Hyundai Accent has long been a favorite around here at Russell Westbrook Hyundai of Garden Grove. A small car that carves out its own niche in the compact vehicle market, the Accent has been redesigned for 2018, and it features a lot of changes we think our customers should know about.

The 2018 Hyundai Accent is a four-door, front-wheel drive vehicle that can carry up to five people. Slightly larger than a subcompact, but smaller than a compact model, the Accent fills a nice slot for many drivers.

While we're still waiting for our 2018 Hyundai Accent to arrive in Garden Grove, we were so excited to learn that Hyundai has made several changes, both big and small, to this popular model. Here are three we think you should know before you shop for a 2018 Hyundai Accent:

  1. No hatchback variant. While the Hyundai Accent has traditionally been available in the driver's choice of either a sedan or a hatchback, for 2018, the carmaker has discontinued the hatchback. The Accent is now strictly a sedan style model, and it's stylish and surprisingly roomy.
  2. More passenger space. The 2018 Accent sits on a slightly larger chassis, and it offers a little more breathing room for passengers inside the car.
  3. Revised engine power. The Hyundai Accent comes equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that's rated for 130 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai says the revised powertrain will help drivers get better fuel economy. The 2018 model is rated for a combined 32 mpg, with 28 mpg in the city, and 38 mpg on the highway.

While we wait for our chance to see and drive the new 2018 Hyundai Accent in person, stop by and visit our professional sales team, on Trask Avenue in Garden Grove. We can answer any questions you might have about this car, or other great Hyundai models, including more information on availability.
