Hyundai to Introduce Eight New Crossover Vehicles in America by 2020

Hyundai Motor America announced earlier this week at a press conference conducted at the Hyundai America Technical Center in Superior Township, MI, that the company has committed to debuting eight new or reengineered crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) in the United States by the year 2020. The Kona small CUV, which launches next March, kicks off this ambitious campaign, which will include vehicles that range entry level options to an eight-passenger midsize CUV.

It's noteworthy that Hyundai plans to also showcase its next-generation gasoline engine, diesel engine, hydrogen fuel cell and battery electric technologies in these vehicles, since that means Hyundai will be the only manufacturer to offer CUV customers a choice of four different fuel choices. This is all part of the company's effort to make their customers' lives and driving experiences better.

In a press release, Mike O’Brien, Vice President, Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America, commented, "Very soon we are going to have the most diverse CUV powertrain lineup in the industry. These vehicles will show the engineering prowess of the more than 13,000 engineers Hyundai Motor Company has working on current and future models every single day. Our customers are going to have a lot of great CUV choices in our dealerships."

This new fleet of CUVs will debut at important auto shows in Detroit, New York and Los Angeles, and we'll be on top of each introduction over the next two years -- so keep an eye out for updates!

Our Hyundai showroom is located at 9898 Trask Avenue in Garden Grove, a convenient drive from the Santa Ana, Westminster and Long Beach areas.
